Safely off to the French sun

The next few days are expected to be top busy in France again. Tens of thousands of Dutch people will once again venture across with their “sleurhut” and the car will be thoroughly tested for the first time in a year. Traffic jams, the heat of the French sun and, of course, the distances. One thing is for sure, this will be another one of the biggest challenges of the year. The kids in the back seat want to be entertained and at the same time, as a driver, you want to be able to continue your route with concentration. Finally, in case of any emergencies, you also want to be able to provide quick assistance. Of course, anything can happen on the road!

Be prepared

When travelling with children, it is wise to stop regularly. This will prevent the children from becoming impatient, but it will also prevent fatigue and thus reduce the risk of an accident! Because you also want to continue your holiday without problems in case of calamities, you are of course well equipped. You may unexpectedly break down and find yourself at the side of the road. Therefore, you are equipped with a warning triangle and vests for yourself and children. These are also compulsory in your car in some countries!

A first aid kit is also very important. Children are playful and can quickly get their fingers caught in the door or fall on the warm asphalt. If you have taken a first aid course then you can deal with this better. Not all first aid kits come with a blanket but an isolation blanket can certainly add value! In the hot temperatures, it can provide cooling in case of breakdown. The golden side of an isolation blanket provides cooling. You can also think of simpler things like sunglasses for the driver, enough water and a charged phone so you can always reach someone.
