Formula 3 calendar 2024
With the start of Formula 1 and Formula 2, the youngsters of Formula 3 may also once again pull out all the stops to advance to Formula 1’s step-up class this season: Formula 2. The Formula 3 boys are still at a young stage and are still in full development to realise their dream. Formula 3 calendar
The calendar of Formula 3 is a lot smaller than that of Formula 1 and Formula 2. This season will see racing at 10 different circuits, with most of them on European soil. Because there are only a limited number of circuits, it is crucial for drivers to make the most of each race weekend. Check out the full schedule of all Formula 3 races below:

- Albert Park Circuit, Melbourne: Melbourne’s challenging street circuit is scheduled from 22 to 24 March .
- Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola, The legendary Imola circuit is on the calendar on 17 to 19 May.
- Circuit de Monaco, Monte Carlo: The most beautiful setting of the calendar, according to many, takes place from 23 to 26 May.
- Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain: In the Spanish heat, the fiery battle continues from 21 to 23 June.
- Red Bull Ring, Spielberg: The battle continues from 28 to 30 June.
- Circuit Silverstone: The iconic Silverstone is scheduled from 5 to 7 July.
- Hungaroring, Budapest: Excitement builds from 19 to 21 July.
- Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps: The roar of Formula 3 engines in the Ardennes takes place from 26 to 28 July.
- Autodromo Nazionale Monza: The final takes place from 30 August to 1 September.
Changes to the new Formula 3 calendar
Some changes have been made this season, so the 2024 calendar is not exactly the same as last season. A major setback for visitors to the Zandvoort race weekend, as Formula 3 has been scrapped, as has Formula 2. But alongside the scrapping of Zandvoort, 2 circuits have been added. These circuits, described as very challenging by drivers, are: Melbourne, Australia and Monte Carlo, Monaco.
How does Formula 3 work
Are you interested in Formula 3, but have no idea when practice, qualifying and races are? We give you a hand and explain succinctly how Formula 3 works:
Weekend format
- Friday: The weekend starts with a 45-minute free practice, followed by a 30-minute qualifying session.
- Saturday: The action continues with a 45-minute Sprint Race.
- Sunday: The weekend concludes with the hour-long Feature Race.
Starting line-ups
- Sprint Race: The starting grid is determined by flipping the top 12 from qualifying on Friday.
- Feature Race: The grid follows the result of Friday’s qualifying session.
Points distribution
- Sprint Race: The top 10 will be awarded points from 10 to 1 point.
- Feature Race: Points go to the top 10, ranging from 25 points for the winner to 1 point for tenth place.
Why more points in the Feature Race?
The Feature Race awards more points to reward those with fast times from qualifying, the longer race time, and the fact that this race often takes place in front of a larger audience.
Points for pole position and fastest lap
Two points go to the driver who starts the Feature Race from pole position. In addition, in each race, one point is available for the fastest lap, if achieved by a driver in the top 10.
