GPS tracker in the car
What is GPS?
GPS (Global Positioning System) is a system that can trace the location of a certain object or person at any time. GPS tracking is one of the most efficient methods for tracking an object or person without spending too much money. The Decos GPS tracker is therefore a very well-known system, but what exactly is a GPS tracker?
GPS consists of a network of satellites and receivers and is used to determine the exact location of objects and people on earth.
Types of GPS trackers
There are GPS trackers for all sorts of different purposes. The best known GPS tracker is used in cars. This is usually a separate little device you can place in your car. If your car is stolen, you can use the GPS tracker to check its location. However, GPS trackers are being used in more and more situations.
Built-in GPS tracker
There are not only stand-alone GPS trackers—you can also fit a GPS tracker inside. This is easily done in a car, machine or boat. That way, you can be sure that everything is well-secured and other people cannot easily find the GPS tracker.
Mileage registration
There are also certain GPS trackers with built-in mileage registration. This is mainly of interest for company vehicles. With mileage registration, all kilometres driven by a car are logged. Besides tracking mileage, it also offers an overview of the driver’s driving behaviour, such as braking distance and speed. This way, you can talk to your drivers about their behaviour and prevent accidents and excessive fuel use.
